Water shield plants, non-indigenous, and non-flower blooming invasive species have become prominent, especially in the Cove. A long-term long-term project is underway with Lake Harmony Group and LHWPG to remove the water shield plants. Read update in Reports.

The Lake Harmony Watershed Preservation Group is organized exclusively for charitable, educational and scientific purposes under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code to improve and maintain the integrity of Lake Harmony and to facilitate communication and cooperation among other groups with the same mission. Your donations will fund bioaeration, vegetative growth control, storm water projects and watershed management.  Scroll down to see a tally of annual expenditures.

The condition of Lake Harmony depends on you to help out. Paying online, sending a check, responding to the Trifold brochure mailed to 1,030 of our LHWPG contacts...it all is so important!  While our 2023 donation tally is over $25,000.00 as of November 9th, compared to our expenses listed below, we have more to raise.  We'll give you regular updates on this progress so visit our Donation Page often. LHWPG annual expenditures include:

$20,000     Water Shield Removal Project
$15,000    Clean-Flo oxygenation-inversion system and bioaugmentation program
$15,000    NatureWorks assessment and treatment of invasive plants 
$10,000    Electricity
 8,000    Leaf removal
$  6,800    Algae treatments
(Culvert cleaning and paper street maintenance not included here)

Fish Stocking is supported but has not been needed in the past four years.  The fish are flourishing!  We also support storm water management projects.
